MAHER KADDOURA

BACKGROUND:

Mr. Kaddoura is the managing partner of nextmove in the Middle East. He was awarded a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Civil Engineering/Construction Management at Nottingham University England. He then worked for the US Army Corp of Engineers before joining Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Chicago in 1984. In 1986 he started the Accenture Middle East practice in Saudi Arabia and expanded it to the rest of the GCC countries. Under his leadership Accenture became the leading management and technology-consulting firm in the region.

In addition to his overall practice management responsibility, he led Accenture Financial Services Industry business in the Middle East region. He worked over the years with the Region’s leading financial services institutions including stock exchanges, central banks and over 40 banks. These banks include Samba, National Commercial Bank, Saudi Hollandi Bank and Riyadh Bank in Saudi Arabia; Emirates Bank and Union Bank in the UAE; Arab Bank and Jordan Kuwait Bank in Jordan; and Arab Banking Corporation in Bahrain. The work involved developing business and organization strategies, Information Technology strategies, restructuring programs to improve bottom-line, as well as implementation of major systems solutions accompanied with major change programs. Furthermore, he worked on launching new banking services and setting up new banking related businesses.

Maher is a seasoned speaker and story teller. He is strong in relationship selling where he perfected the methods, techniques and style over the last twenty years. He has vast experience in the GCC market in dealing with senior executives, local high net worth individuals and board members.

He has served on a number of global task forces providing leadership and guidance to Accenture practices around the world. He was also in charge of a number of regional market studies which included “The Saudi Arabian Banking Survey” and “The GCC eFinance study”. These study reports were well received by industry experts and senior executives.

SELECTED RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Full Bank Transformation
Developed full bank transformation strategy covering defining customer segments, products and channels. Also defined the approach to build capabilities to process consumer credit, sales in branches and outside branches. It also covered centralization strategy and a new organization structure.

Retail Banking Growth Strategy

Developed and executed strategy together with the road map to execute it. We then worked with the bank on the execution of this achieving high growth rate sales across key lending products.

Program Management Office

Established and manned a Program Management Office to implement new banking solution including the management of IT vendors, business process optimization and training of the new users.
Centralized Processing Center - Developed and implemented a centralized processing center to process transfers, LC and consumer credit.

Channel Migration Strategy

Planning, designing and execution of channel migration strategy to increase alternative channel utilization with the objective of reducing the work load on branches.

IT Strategy
Developed an IT strategy for a universal bank covering both retail and corporate banking and covered what applications and for what business reasoning and the best structure for IT department.
Sales and Marketing Department – Established a new Sales and Marketing department covering all procedures, organization, tools and recruited people to staff it.
